    Description

    Vintage original bookplate illustration litho-prints (in black & white) that have significant
    historical value concerning the American Civil War.
    You will receive:
    THE BROKEN SHACKLES (sometimes titled The Condition in 1863)
    from an original painting by J.E. Taylor
    and
    THE PRIMARY CAUSES OF THE WAR--THE NEGRO AND COTTON.
    The second print is very hard to find.
    Having never been framed, these only have a rough edge where they
    were removed from books.
    The reverse sides are blank.
    These measure approximately 6 1/2" by 10".
