Vintage Soviet USSR Era Lomonosov porcelain figurine of a baby panda bear cub. The figurine is a baby panda bear cub. Excellent condition. Strong, smooth glaze with no damage. Originally known as Imperial Porcelain Factory in Saint Petersburg, Russia founded in 1744. The piece is a hand painted collaboration of porcelain painter Viktor Zhbanoy and sculptor/modeller Pavel Veselov.  Has USSR stamp. Measures 3.5" x 4" x 2.5" x 3.25"
The Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (Ломоносовский фарфоровый завод) was founded in 1744 as Imperial Porcelain Factory (Императорский фарфоровый завод). In 1925, it became Lomonosov, after the scientist and writer Mikhail Lomonosov (1711-1765). After 2005, it was renamed back to the Imperial Porcelain Factory.
