Nice Civil War Era Brass Decorated Five Point Star Center Horse Bridal Rosette

Description

An amazing, scarce large stamped brass horse bridal rosette with a 5 point star center surrounded by a rosette pattern of alternating loops and decorated lines.  The piece measures 1 & 3/4th inch diameter.  It has a typical bar shank attachment soldered to the reverse.  It appears to be counter enameled or painted on the reverse; perhaps with pitch.  While there is evidence it has been used it is In excellent condition; commensurate with age. There is a minor spot of roughness at the edge in one area.  Not one I have ever seen before.
