Confederate Block I Button. ‘ Replica’-‘ Reproduction’.
I purchased this button around 20 years ago when I first got into buying from eBay. It was in a photo with several other buttons and varieties of Civil War buttons. The pictures looked great, the colors looked great , everything about them looked great. I won the entire lot of them.
After receiving them, I discovered all were aged replicas.
Of course, I never received a refund and so they were mine. They are nicely done, but are not authentic period buttons.
Look great in your display case until you can dig a real one or be able to afford a real one.
Buttons are exactly as received, never did anything to them. I’ve decided to just pass them along.
Wife & I are retired now and downsizing, she says my 50+ years of digging and collecting war relics must go, so I guess its time to let someone else enjoy them now.
