Description
Circa 1920's Harmony Johnny Marvin Koa Tenor ukulele.Used and played by both my Grandmother and Grandfather.
Originally advertised by The Harmony Co. as a Tenor (as shown in photo), the size is actually that of a Concert ukulele. Johnny Marvin was a top recording artist in the 20's who's signature model was typically made of mahogany. This Koa model being auctioned was affectionately known as the" Prince of Wales"model, as Marvin while on tour in England in 1928 presented a special version of this uke to King Edward VIII. The airplane shaped bridge was created in honor of Charles Lindbergh's solo Atlantic crossing in 1927. All original condition, with no signs of repair.
