Description
No Reserve: This is an approx 39"x 31" map of the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg. I believe it had been on some sort of a roller type map display tool because of the circular holes on the one side which are not viewable if matted. There is minor toning, some soiling and the circular holes. I have had it displayed on a hard board with minimum mat edging as shown in one of the photos. It is clear and sharp, unlike my photographing ability. To ship it it will be rolled and put into a tube. Until recently it was in the rafters of a local Book Barn until a dealer friend found it and contacted me. It is an authentic 1876 Map of the battle field of Gettysburg, July 1st, 1863. It is for the First
day battle. Published by authority of the Hon. the Secretary of War,
Office of the Chief of Engineers U.S. Army. 1876. Positions of troops
compiled and added for the government by John B. Bachelder. Topography
engraved by Julius Bien, 16 Park Place N. Y. Position & lettering by
Louis E. Newman, 36 Vesey St., N.Y. Printed by Endicott & Co., New
York. If you would like more photos, please don't hesitate to ask. Shipping and handling in CONUS would be at no cost.
