    Description

    1931, Nov. 15. Chatswood - London, England. Large specially produced cover "Christmas Greetings From Australia' appropriately cacheted. Cover has been roughly torn open at top, several small pieces missing on reverse. Inside the cover was a cut out from the 16 Dec. Evening News showing Kingsford Smith unloading the mail sacks from his plane. Caption reads: "Air Commodore Kingsford Smith arrived at Croydon to-day with 50,000 letters from Australia for people all over Britain. He picked up the mail in Malay from an air liner which had crashed."
