    Here you get 7 Antique 1860s-1888 Correspondence Letters Inc. 4 Civil War letters.  These are from the Holden Family from tompkins county Ny. Youll get 4 with civil war soldiers correspondence. Theres 1 in a yellow envelope sent to William Holden Co.H 10th Ill. Infantry 17th army corps.It contains part of a letter. The partial letter has pages 5-8 and speaks of Captain knettles is not dead or damaged in any way whatsoever, Captain Lewis of I have forgot what company was shot through the leg with a revolver. Also talks abou marching from Annapolis Junction to about six miles from Washington and can see the capital from the highest ground near the camp and we are within range of thre forts. The nearest is Fort Lincoln it could shell our camp as nice as a pin. The next letter has a partial Union patriotic Envelope. It has normsl correspondence and then talks about troops passing through here southward. Rosencrands main Army are but a few miles from here. They have daily skirmishes in frontbwith the Rebs who are supposed to beabout 60000 strong.then he talks about getting new tents and sacks then speaks of the weather. Also says General Mitchel is in charge of this post. Next is a letter with no envelope sent to Camp Susquehanna.  Say he rode from ithaca to Owego on an engine with a Van Buren Gun then went to Binghamton and went swimming in the river then up to the office to be inspected and I Passed. He talks about the country looking rath and tough. Talks about camp being such a bluster that i can hardly write. I have not got all my clothes nor my knap sack and we expect the regt to move in a few days.we had a funeral for a soldier who died at Richmond. Next is in an envelope adressed to Mr Wm. HOLDEN Gen Field office Ward D, Chattanooga Tenn. This is a letter talking about land advertised and has a drawing of township and land for sale. The last 2 letters are from the 1880s. There is one from 1888 which i believe is a receipt from Cornell University.  Next common letter from 1884 and talks about cattle prices and other stuff. There is 1 from 1866 that talks about land, buying cattle or sheep etc. Etc. Not sure if all the letters go to the envelope it is with. Various conditions. Sold as is see pics for what youll get.
