Description

The Confederate & Union always had washer women that would tag along with the troops to earn money washing their clothes. During the civil war, a washer woman would make around seven or eight dollars per month washing clothes. A Civil war soldier got thirteen dollars per month. A low grade officer got one hundred dollars per month.
