    1860 Civil War Bible in Bible display case -  signed by Union Capt William Henry Tyler & Confederate Soldier Lt William H Weatherspoon. Bible, f
    air condition - Original black leather binding with decorative blind tooled design on binding. Gold gilt title on spine. Silver clasp with WHW engraved on outside of latch. Spine edges cracked & front cover loose but attached. Gold gilt page edges on 3 sides.
    Original signed picture of Capt Tyler with photographer's backstamp Bailey & Silver's Photographic Gallery, 395 & 397 Broadway, NY. Research info on both men included. See pictures.

    Bible size: 3 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 1 1/4" thick.
    Pocket Bible, inscription inside: William H Weatherspoon: Bible presented to him by the members of Cedar Fork Church. Inside cover inscribed: William H Weatherspoon's Book. Camp Argyle, Carolina City, NC, 7th Reg State Troops. Confederate Lt William H Weatherspoon enlisted June 1, 1861 into "G" Company NC 7th Infantry as Sergeant, became an officer when promoted to 2nd Lieut February 4, 1863. Military
    Records also show his service in "I" Company NC 6th Infantry.
    He was captured. Paroled May 1, 1865 in Greensboro, NC.
    Union Capt William H Tyler found the NT after Battle of New Bern NC & wrote inside front cover
    "Found at Camp of 7th Regt No Ca Troops at New Bern No Ca, Wm H Tyler."
    Tyler was 29y/o merchant & resident of Adams, Mass. Enlisted Sept 17, 1861 as 1st LT into Field & Staff of Mass 27th Infantry. Promoted to Capt Nov 26, 1862, died July 20 1864. Both Soldiers' military record paperwork included.
