Rahul Gandhi hails Telangana caste census progress, KTR raises Adani issue

Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi said the caste census in Telangana, undertaken by the Congress-led government, has achieved significant progress. “Our government in Telangana has completed over 70% of the caste census. Soon, we will have comprehensive data to frame policies and strengthen social justice,” he said.
Calling caste-based enumeration essential for equitable development, Rahul Gandhi said it would serve as a foundation for planning in the coming decades. He added, “The Congress government in Telangana has shown the way, and we will ensure a comprehensive caste census is conducted at the national level.”
Congress general secretary for communications, Jairam Ramesh, shared further details, saying that around 80,000 enumerators have reached 1.17 crore households across 33 districts to survey the economic, social, and caste backgrounds of people.
He also added, “The Congress model of governance: justice, empowerment, and execution.”
BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) reacted sharply, accusing the Telangana Congress government of corruption. “It’s high time you and your Congress CM in Telangana come clean. Can you deny that the Rs 100 crore ‘gifted’ by Adani to Revanth Reddy is not a bribe? What promises have you made to Adani in return?” KTR said on social media.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka defended the Congress, calling KTR’s allegations baseless. “KTR has not understood what Rahul Gandhi has said. He is trying to divert focus from the survey, which has already achieved 75% completion in the state,” he said.
